Peer support groups

Closed groups for members of the Arthritis Society

Being diagnosed with arthritis can be difficult and can affect quality of life, ability to work and daily life. Medical care is important, but it does not always address all the challenges of a chronic and often invisible illness.

In peer support groups, people meet others who understand life with arthritis and can share experiences, advice and support in a safe and understanding environment. Such support reduces loneliness, increases self-confidence and helps people find ways to improve their quality of life.

The Arthritis Society's peer groups are closed and only for members with the relevant condition, which ensures the confidentiality, safety, and shared experience of all participants. The groups are on Facebook but also meet regularly at the Arthritis Society's premises in Brekkuhús. Meetings can be followed on Teams.

ImportantWhen people apply to join the group, they need to answer the 'membership question'. If it is not answered, the application will be rejected.
