class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p><strong>Arthritis Children&#x27;s Fund<\/strong> is a specialised fund run by <strong>The Arthritis Society of Iceland<\/strong>, which provides financial and social support to children and their families who are dealing with rheumatic diseases.<\/p><p><strong>Purpose of the fund<\/strong><\/p><ul><li><strong>Supporting children with arthritis<\/strong> and their families with grants for:<ul><li>Treatment and travel to specialists (e.g. to the Ring Children&#x27;s Hospital or abroad).<\/li><li>Purchase of aids or specialised equipment.<\/li><li>Stays at rehabilitation centres.<\/li><li>Participation in education, courses or summer work related to the illness.<\/li><\/ul><\/li><\/ul><p><strong>Who can apply?<\/strong><\/p><ul><li>Children and adolescents (under the age of 18) with <strong>diagnosed with arthritis<\/strong>.<\/li><li>Families who can demonstrate actual costs or an urgent need for support.<\/li><li>Only members of the Arthritis Society can apply for a grant.<\/li><\/ul><p><strong>Application process<\/strong><\/p><ul><li>The application should be sent to the Arthritis Society of Iceland.<ul><li><strong>By email:<\/strong> gigt@gigt.is<\/li><\/ul><\/li><li>An application must include:<ul><li>Basic information about the child and the illness<\/li><li>Statement on the circumstances and use of the grant<\/li><li>Cost estimate if applicable (e.g. travel costs)<\/li><li>Certificate from a doctor<\/li><\/ul><\/li><\/ul><p><strong>Allocation<\/strong><\/p><ul><li>Allocation is carried out in accordance with a further decision by the board or a special committee.<\/li><li>The Arthritis Society does not always advertise specific application deadlines \u2013 it is recommended to have <strong>direct connection<\/strong> and ask around.<\/li><\/ul><p><strong>Examples of what has been funded:<\/strong><\/p><ul><li>Family travel expenses for a child&#x27;s treatment abroad<\/li><li>Custom-made splint or insole for a child with arthritis<\/li><li>Participation in educational weekends
